    Choose your PDFs

Pick two or more PDFs from your device, or drag them in. They load straight into your browser's memory — they are never sent anywhere.

  3. 02

    Arrange them and pick options

Drag a PDF by its preview (on a phone, press and hold it first), or tap the arrows under it, until the numbers show the order you want. Type pages such as 1-3, 5 under a PDF to use only those pages. Then name the merged file and choose whether to add bookmarks.

    Merge and download

Click Merge PDFs, then Download to save the combined PDF straight to your device. Text stays selectable and searchable. Change the order or any option and the button goes back to Merge PDFs, so you never download an out-of-date file.

  5. 04

Merge as many PDFs as you like

Choose several PDFs together, or tap ‘+ Add More’ to add others later. There is no daily limit and no set number of files. Your device's memory is the only limit. It’s super fast, simple, and private.

How it works

  • Choose two or more PDFs and put them in the order you want. The number on each PDF shows where it will sit in the merged file.
  • Pages are copied from each PDF into one new PDF, in order. Text and vector graphics are never turned into images, so text stays selectable and searchable.
  • Under each PDF you can type the pages to use, such as 1-3, 5 or 8- for page 8 to the end. Leave it empty to use every page.
  • Before you can download, the merged PDF is opened again and compared with the pages you chose. Nothing is uploaded, and once the page has loaded, it keeps working offline.
  • Change the order, the pages, the name or any option and the button returns to Merge PDFs, ready to make a fresh file.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is my PDF uploaded anywhere? No. Merging runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never sent to a server, so they stay private.
  • How do I change the order of my PDFs? Drag a PDF by its preview and drop it where you want it (on a phone, press and hold the preview first), or use the arrows under each PDF to move it earlier or later. The number on each PDF shows its place in the merged file. Sort A–Z and Reverse reorder them all at once.
  • Can I use only some pages of a PDF? Yes. Type the pages you want under a PDF, such as 1-3, 5 or 8- for page 8 to the end. Leave the box empty to use every page.
  • Will the text stay selectable and searchable? Yes. Pages are copied across as they are and never converted to images, so text, photos and vector graphics stay exactly as they were.
  • Will the merged PDF be larger or lower quality? Quality does not change. The merged file is usually about the total size of the PDFs you put in. If it is too big to share, run it through a PDF compressor afterwards.
  • What do bookmarks do? With Add Bookmarks on, the merged PDF gets one clickable bookmark per PDF, named after the file, so readers can jump straight to each part in their PDF viewer.
  • How many PDFs can I merge? There is no set limit and no daily limit. Your device’s memory is the only limit, so very large batches may be slow on a phone.
  • Which PDFs are not supported? Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged. Digitally signed PDFs can be merged, but the signature stops being valid. Fillable form fields and accessibility tags may not carry over, and the bookmarks inside each original PDF are not kept.

What happens to your PDFs

  • Pages: every page you chose is copied into the new PDF exactly as it is. Photos, text and vector graphics are not re-rendered or recompressed.
  • Order: PDFs follow the numbers shown on their previews. Pages inside a PDF keep their own order, or the order you type in the pages box. Type a page twice to repeat it.
  • Page size and rotation: each page keeps its own size and rotation, so a mix of A4, Letter and landscape pages stays a mix.
  • Bookmarks: with Add Bookmarks on, each PDF gets one bookmark named after its file, pointing to its first page.
  • Links: web links on the pages keep working.
  • Not carried over: the bookmarks and document details (such as title and author) of the original PDFs, and possibly fillable form fields and accessibility tags. The merged file gets its title from the file name you choose.
  • Safety check: the merged PDF is opened again and compared with the pages you chose, covering page count, text, page size, rotation and links. If a check does not pass, you are told before you download.

How to get the most out of it

  • Check the numbers. The number on each preview is its place in the merged file, so a quick glance confirms the order.
  • Use Sort A–Z for numbered files. Names such as report 2 and report 10 are sorted by number, so 2 comes before 10.
  • Leave out what you don't need. Type pages such as 2- to skip a cover page, or 1-4 to take only the start of a long PDF.
  • Turn on bookmarks for long files. They give readers a quick way to jump between the original documents.
  • Name it before you merge. The name box sets the file name of the download.
  • Keep the file small enough to share. The merged file is about as big as the PDFs you put in. If it is too big to email, run it through a PDF compressor afterwards.
  • Merge your originals. Merging copies pages as they are, so start from the best version of each PDF.
  • Know the limits. Password-protected PDFs can't be merged, and digitally signed PDFs lose their signature when pages are copied into a new file.

How it compares with iLovePDF

  • Privacy: iLovePDF uploads your PDFs to its servers and deletes them automatically after 2 hours. Here nothing is ever uploaded. Your PDFs stay on your device.
  • Ordering: both let you drag files into order. iLovePDF also has an A–Z button, and so does this tool, along with arrows under each PDF and a Reverse button.
  • Pages: this tool lets you type the pages to use from each PDF while you merge, so you don't need a second step.
  • Limits: iLovePDF says merging unlimited files and larger uploads needs Premium. This tool needs no account, has no daily limit and adds no watermark. Your device's memory is the only limit.
  • Offline: iLovePDF offers a separate desktop app for offline merging, and you sign up or log in to use it. This page keeps working offline once it has loaded, and can be installed as an app from your browser.
  • What iLovePDF has that this doesn't: importing files from Google Drive or Dropbox, a large set of other PDF tools, such as split, organize and convert, plus desktop and mobile apps. This page does one job only.

How it compares with other popular PDF mergers

  • Smallpdf: works in the cloud and deletes files after one hour. It also lets you add Word, Excel, PowerPoint and image files to the same merge, which this page does not.
  • Adobe Acrobat online: handles your files on Adobe's servers. You can try its merge tool without signing in and reorder, add or delete files before merging. Adobe says you sign in to reorganize individual pages in the merged PDF.
  • PDF24: its online tools upload your files and delete them after one hour, and it advertises no usage limits. Its free PDF24 Creator app works offline on Windows.
  • The main difference: these sites process your PDFs on their servers, so they have to be uploaded first. Here they are processed inside your browser, which matters most for contracts, ID documents and other private files.
  • What they have that this doesn't: Smallpdf accepts other file types in the same merge, and Adobe offers page-level reorganizing of the merged PDF once you sign in. This page only merges PDFs.
  • Trade-off: a cloud service does the work on its own servers, so it can handle extremely large PDFs more easily. Here, very large files depend on your device's memory and may be slow on a phone.
  • Note: these details come from each service's own website as of September 2026 and can change.
