    Choose your PDFs

Pick one or more PDFs from your device, or drag them in. They load straight into your browser's memory — they are never sent anywhere.

  3. 02

    Select pages and rotate them

Click pages in the preview to select them, or drag across several with a mouse or trackpad. You can also use All, First, Last, Odd or Even, or type a range such as 2, 4-6, 9- in the box next to Custom. Selected pages get a green frame, and clicking does not turn them. Click a page again to unselect it. Then press 90°, 180° or 270°, and the selected pages turn in the preview. To give other pages a different rotation, press Unselect All, select them and press another button.

  4. 03

    Rotate the PDF and download

Click Apply Page Rotation, then Download to save the rotated PDF straight to your device. Text stays selectable and searchable. Turn any page again and the button goes back to Apply Page Rotation, ready for another run.

How it works

  • Choose one or more PDFs, then select pages and rotate them, as many different groups as you like. Nothing is processed until you click Apply Page Rotation, so the file is made only once, however many pages you pick.
  • Click a page to select it and click it again to unselect it. On a computer you can also drag a box across several pages. On a phone, tap pages. The buttons and the range box select pages in every PDF at once.
  • Selected pages get a green frame. Press a rotation button and they are shown turned the way they will be saved, with a label such as 90°. Press Unselect All, select other pages and press another button to give them a different rotation. Pages you did not turn look normal. None puts the selected pages back, and Reset All starts everything over.
  • With See All Pages unticked, each PDF shows one thumbnail with page arrows, and a note tells you when a page is not rotated. Click the thumbnail to select the page you are looking at.
  • Pages are never converted to images, so the original text stays selectable and searchable.
  • Each result is checked against its original before you can download it. If anything differs, no file is produced for that PDF.
  • See All Pages is ticked by default, so every page of each PDF shows as a grid of small thumbnails. Use the two icons beside it to switch to a vertical list of large pages, which opens at 100% zoom on a computer and fits the screen on a phone. Change the zoom with the + and − buttons.
  • Untick See All Pages to show each PDF as one small thumbnail instead.
  • With two or more PDFs added, the Jump to PDF menu above the files shows which PDF you are on and scrolls straight to the one you pick.
  • Download one PDF on its own, or all of them together as a ZIP.
  • Nothing is uploaded. Once the page has loaded, it keeps working offline.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is my PDF uploaded anywhere? No. Pages are rotated entirely in your browser. Your file is never sent to a server, so it stays private.
  • Will the text stay selectable and searchable? Yes. Pages are never converted to images. Rotating only changes the turn saved with each page, so the original text, photos and vector graphics are left untouched and stay sharp at any zoom.
  • Can I rotate several PDFs at once? Yes. Add as many PDFs as you like, and download them together as a ZIP or one at a time. Clicking or dragging picks pages in the PDF you use it on, and a rotation button turns the selected pages in every PDF that has pages selected. All, First, Last, Odd, Even and typed ranges pick pages in every PDF, counted from each PDF's own first page.
  • Which rotations are available? First select the pages, then press 90° to turn them clockwise, 270° to turn them counter-clockwise, or 180° to flip them upside down. Each press turns the selected pages a further step. None takes the selected pages back to how they started, and Reset All starts everything over.
  • Can I turn different pages in different directions? Yes. Select some pages and press a rotation button, then press Unselect All, select other pages and press another one. Every page keeps its own turn until you click Apply Page Rotation, and a label on each turned page shows what it will get. You can mix 90°, 180° and 270° in the same PDF.
  • How do I choose the pages to rotate? Click a page in the preview to pick it, and click it again to unpick it. With a mouse or trackpad you can also drag a box across several pages. You can also use All, First, Last, Odd or Even, or type page numbers and ranges such as 2, 4-6, 9- in the box next to Custom. Pages you do not pick stay exactly as they were.
  • Can I pick pages on a phone or without a mouse? Yes. On a phone or tablet, tap pages to pick them. Dragging across several pages needs a mouse or trackpad, because on a touch screen a drag scrolls the list. Without a mouse you can also use the All, First, Last, Odd and Even buttons, or type a range in the box next to Custom.
  • Can I rotate just one page? Yes. Click that page in the preview, or type its number in the box next to Custom, for example 3. The preview shows that page turned, and every other page stays as it is.
  • Can I see which pages will turn before I click? Yes. Every turned page is shown turned the way it will be saved, with a label such as 90°. Selected pages also have a green frame. Pages you did not turn look normal. Keep See All Pages ticked to check the whole document, or untick it for one thumbnail with page arrows.
  • What happens if I turn no pages? Nothing changes, and no file is produced for a PDF with no turned pages. Its card tells you why, and other PDFs in the same batch are still processed.
  • What if a page is already rotated? The turn is added to the page rotation it already has. A page turned 90° right that you rotate another 90° right ends up turned 180°.
  • How do I fix a wrong turn? Your original file is never changed. If you downloaded a wrong turn, add the rotated file again and turn it back, for example 270° after 90°.
  • Does rotating reduce quality or change the file size? No. Nothing is compressed or redrawn, so quality stays the same. The file size changes by only a few bytes, because the PDF is saved again.
  • Will rotating work on scanned PDFs? Yes. A scanned page is a picture, and it turns just like any other page. This is handy for scans that came out sideways or upside down.
  • Do links and bookmarks still work? Yes. Links, bookmarks and other annotations stay with their pages and turn with them. The number of annotations is compared with your original before you can download.
  • Which PDFs are not supported? Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Digitally signed PDFs can be rotated, but rewriting the file invalidates the signature.

What happens to your PDF

  • Rotation only: every PDF page carries a rotation setting. Rotating changes that one setting, so the page content itself is never redrawn, recompressed or converted.
  • Real text: text, fonts, photos and vector graphics are never touched, so text stays selectable and searchable and graphics stay sharp at any zoom.
  • Added to what is there: a page that is already turned keeps its turn, and your rotation is added to it. Pressing 90° and then 270° on the same page puts it back where it started.
  • Page sizes: a 90° turn swaps a page’s width and height, so a portrait page becomes landscape. A 180° turn keeps the size.
  • Cropped pages: the visible area of a cropped page turns together with the page.
  • Pages you leave out: pages you did not pick are saved exactly as they were.
  • Counting: page numbers you type count from each PDF's own first page and mean the position of the page, not the number printed on it. Pages a PDF does not have are ignored.
  • Nothing turned: if no page in a PDF has been turned, no file is produced for that PDF and its card says why.
  • Left alone: links, bookmarks, forms and the page order stay as they were.
  • Safety check: the result is opened again and compared with your original, covering text, page count, page sizes, rotation and links. Only the pages you turned may differ, and only by the turns you set. If anything else differs, no file is produced for that PDF.

How to get the most out of it

  • Sideways scans. If a whole scan came out sideways, choose All, then 90° or 270°.
  • Upside-down pages. Choose 180°. If only some pages are upside down, such as every back side of a double-sided scan, choose Even or Odd to turn just those.
  • One wide page in a tall document. Click that page in the preview and turn it 90° or 270°, so it reads upright.
  • Select many pages fast. Drag a box across a row of pages with your mouse or trackpad, or type a range such as 2, 4-6, 9- in the box next to Custom.
  • Check before you download. Selected pages are shown turned, with a green frame. Switch See All Pages to the vertical list and scroll through a few pages, especially pages with a different size or orientation.
  • Not sure which way? Try 90° first. The selected pages turn in the preview straight away, so press 180° to turn them the other way before you rotate.
  • Changed your mind? Click a framed page again to unselect it, or press None to take back its turn. Press Reset All to start everything over.
  • Use the position, not the printed number. Page 3 means the third page of the PDF, even if the number printed on it says something else.
  • Do many at once. Add all your PDFs together, choose All or a quick pick, and download them as one ZIP.
  • Keep your original. Your original file is never changed, but keep it until you have checked the rotated one.
  • Know the limits. Password-protected PDFs can’t be rotated, and digitally signed PDFs lose their signature when rewritten.

How it compares with iLovePDF

  • Privacy: iLovePDF uploads your PDF to its servers and deletes it automatically after 2 hours. Here nothing is ever uploaded. Your PDF stays on your device.
  • Rotate options: iLovePDF has a Rotate PDF tool for turning PDFs in bulk, and points to its separate Organize PDF tool for turning individual pages. This tool turns whichever pages you pick in one place: click pages, drag across several, or type ranges, with quick picks for all, first, last, odd and even pages, and a live preview that shows every picked page turned on the PDF itself.
  • Batch: a rotation button turns the selected pages in every PDF that has pages selected, and the quick picks and typed ranges, such as Even or 2-, pick pages in every PDF, each counted from its own first page.
  • Limits: this tool needs no account, has no daily limit and adds no watermark. Your device's memory is the only limit.
  • Offline: iLovePDF offers a separate desktop app for offline use. This page keeps working offline once it has loaded, and can be installed as an app from your browser.
  • What iLovePDF has that this doesn't: a large set of other PDF tools, such as merge, split and convert, plus desktop and mobile apps. This page does one job only.

How it compares with other popular PDF rotate tools

  • Smallpdf: works in the cloud and deletes files after one hour. It lets you turn a single page or all pages, and free use has a usage limit. Here you can also drag across several pages and turn odd, even, first, last or typed-range pages in one step, with no limit.
  • Adobe Acrobat: a full PDF editor with page tools, and saving edited PDFs is part of the paid Acrobat plans. This page rotates PDFs and nothing else.
  • PDF24: its online tool uploads your files and deletes them within one hour, and it is free with ads. Its free PDF24 Creator app works offline on Windows.
  • The main difference: these sites process your PDF on their servers, so it has to be uploaded first. Here it is processed inside your browser, which matters most for contracts, ID documents and other private files.
  • Trade-off: a cloud service does the work on its own servers, so it can handle extremely large PDFs more easily. Here, very large files depend on your device's memory and may be slow on a phone.
  • Note: these details come from each service's public information as of October 2026 and can change.
