WHAT IS COOKIE?
Cookie also know by names like HTTP Cookie, Web Cookie, Internet Cookie, Browser Cookie is a small piece of data which is sent from a website and stored on the user’s device (phone, computer etc) by the user’s web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc) when the user is browsing.
Cookie allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user.
Cookie is a ‘Non-personal Information’ which is not personally identifiable by the user (you) but is essential for the proper functioning of most websites. Cookie is automatically collected when you access our website and it allows to recognise every time you visit our website.
Cookie are also used to identify what items are in your shopping cart, whether you are logged in or not etc. (Here at www.writinglaw.com I have no selling/cart option or sign up/login functions.) Writing Law does not use cookies to store visitor’s personal information.
However, Third party services like Google Analytics (which is responsible for giving information about number of visitors etc) store cookies to track visitors for better services. If you have any concern with these third party services, please contact them directly.

WHY AM I PUTTING THIS BANNER?
I know it is irritating to click on Cookie banners or Notification banners. But please understand that laws in many countries (especially European Countries) want websites to display cookie notice and take visitors permission to show cookies.
The most easy way to stop cookies is in your browser settings.
WHY THIS BANNER EVEN FOR INDIAN USERS?
I can use a free location based plugin and show this notice only for certain countries and not India (95% of visitors are from India). But I am showing this for everyone because-
a) I do not want to use one extra plugin. Extra features will just slow the site and affect everyone.
b) Whether you are from India or any other country like Pakistan, USA, Brazil or European Countries, I do not want any plugin to track or collect your location. If a plugin is free, then it surely would do something with your data to get money and survive!
c) I want Google to notice that I respect laws. I am hopeful that Google shows my website on its first page of search and also on search list in EU countries. This would increase number of visitors and more visitors means more people might contribute and help the site to stay online and ad-free.
